Hendrick, a full-time staff member at AC since November 2000, grew up in the Texas Panhandle, attending Panhandle High School.
She went on to pursue a 20-year career in farming and ranching before returning to school at AC.
She received her bachelor's degree in management at Wayland Baptist University before becoming an AC staff member.
During the past year, she has spent most of her time developing and testing the AC Web portal called MyAC. The site helps students and employees stay updated on assignments and other information through e-mail and bulletin boards.
"I feel a little scared about what I do," Hendrick said. "I know there is a lot of influence and responsibility here, and I take that seriously.
"There are many great people here at AC who easily deserve this award.
"I feel privileged to be surrounded by people much, much smarter than me. They make me look good."
Dr. Brad Johnson, vice president and dean of development, said Hendrick has played a large role in the development of MyAC.
"Linda carried a huge load with this project," he said. "She showed great concern for students' understanding of the site and their ability to use it to its full potential. She led many training sessions during the summer - not because she had to, but because she thought it was necessary.
Johnson said he knows more than Hendrick's businesslike side.
"She's a warm person and easy to work with," he said. "She always brings cookies and other kinds of things to every meeting she's involved in just because she respects the people around her."
Bruce Cotgreave, director of the physical plant, said, "I get here early and stay fairly late, but I know that anytime I'm here, I could call over to Linda's office and she would be there ready to go.
"She's that type of worker. She's very professional in everything she does."
