State of Tomorrow is a new documentary television series that began airing statewide in mid-April on PBS stations.
The series is an unprecedented collaboration among the six systems of higher education, addressing huge challenges facing Texans and the little-known work being done on college campuses to address these daunting issues, according to a news release.
"Thinking Small," featuring Dr. Ray Baughman of the University of Texas at Dallas, will show the work being done at UT-Dallas to create artificial muscles using nanotechnology.
"A Passion for Jazz" explores the impact music has on people and the culture at large by examining one of the most nationally recognized music programs in the nation, the University of North Texas jazz studies program.
Numerous other subjects will be covered, including elusive problems of health, science, education, technology and the environment.
The series includes 13 episodes. Other episodes include "21st Century Cancer" and "Disaster Response."
