We have a plethora of television shows and magazines telling us the latest trends in fashion. We can turn to the television set or the newsstand to get the scoop on what to wear and how to wear it. But with so many opinions out there about how we should look, sometimes we are left confused. That's why I feel that if we stick to Dustin's Golden Rules of Style, we, too, can be en vogue.

Rule one is the most important: The key to looking good is personal grooming. Be sure to bathe every day. Now this may seem like common sense, but look around every once and awhile and you will see it is not. Put deodorant on and brush your teeth, because people notice, and if you are nasty they will talk about you behind your back; I know I do. This rule also applies to your hair. No one should look like they brushed their hair with a pork chop, so make sure you properly wash your 'fro. And while we are on the subject of hair, people who have super dark hair, please quit trying to go blonde. You look ridiculous and now have orange hair.

Rule two: When you go to your closet to pick something to wear, make sure it, too, is clean. People won't notice how your flawless skin is if they are too busy looking at the dried cheese stain on you blouse from the nachos you ate the night before. Guys, you, too, are guilty of this fashion faux pas when you wear jeans that look like you just rolled around the dirt in them. Remember, cleanliness is the difference between ugly and fashionable.

Rule three: When shopping for clothes, be aware of your body. Full-figured gals should not shop in the baby T-shirt department. As tempting and as cute as the shirts may be, resist the urge, because if your belly is hanging out of your shirt then that is a red flag that you bought the wrong size.

And yes, thin girls, too, should not wear shirts that expose their bellies. And in a society that praises the super thin, full-figured girls have something that Kate Mosses of the world don't: natural cleavage. But like anything else, cleavage should be done only in moderation.
