Q) What are your duties as the Student Government Association president?
A) The president presides over weekly executive board meetings, makes agendas and presides over General Assembly SGA meetings, presides over monthly funding board meetings, attends monthly President's Council and Faculty Senate meetings and works as a student assistant in the student activities department for about 20 hours a week. She also appoints all campus and ad hoc committees and oversees the entire operations of the SGA.
Q) What do you like and dislike about your duties?
A) I like to know what's going on on campus. I also enjoy being able to represent the student body and the Student Government Association by being president.
Q) How did you become the SGA president?
A) I filled out an officer application and then gave a General Assembly speech after which the Student Government body voted and elected me.
Q) What is your motivation to remain the SGA president?
A) It is a high responsibility job, and I try not to take responsibility lightly. I will remain SGA president. I think I do a good job with talking to the administration to represent our views and opinions. I don't quit.
Q) How long have you been the SGA president?
A) I've been active president since last May, I think.
Q) What was your inspiration to become the SGA president?
A) I wanted to grow in my leadership skills and thought being president would be a good idea. Also, I've had some big ideas for the college and knew that being president would be the best way to see that they are at least thought about.
Q) What are the easiest and hardest parts about being the SGA president?
A) Probably the hardest part is keeping me from doing everything. I like to do things myself, but I know that delegating is a better way to involve others in the project and give them a chance to also be a leader.
Q) What are you currently working on as the SGA president?
2008 Woodie Awards
