-Lamplight Youth Theatre to perform 'Charlotte's Web'
Seventy students from the Lamplight Youth Theatre will perform "Charlotte's Web" Friday through Sunday at Ordway Hall on the Washington Street Campus.
Tickets cost $10 for adults, $8 for senior citizens and college students and $5 for children.
To obtain tickets, call Cynthia Koetting at 371-5353.

-Gen. Wesley Clark to speak in Amarillo
Former Supreme Allied Commander of NATO Gen. Wesley Clark will speak and sign books at the Globe-News Center at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 9. A private reception will precede the event at 6 p.m.
The speech will be part of the AC Distinguished Lecture Series. For ticket information and prices, call 371-5322.

-BSM free lunch
Baptist Student Ministries offers free lunch at noon each Tuesday at the "B" at 22nd Avenue and Van Buren Street.

-Silent vigil to take place on campus
A "Stop the War in Iraq" silent vigil will begin at noon Tuesday at the Washington Street Campus clock tower.

-Students win 12 statewide awards
The Amarillo College student newspaper and magazine won 12 awards, including two first-place certificates, in the annual competition of the Texas Community College Journalism Association.
The awards were announced at the TCCJA convention Oct. 20 at Texarkana College.
Toni Snow received two awards: first place for newswriting and third place for column writing, both in The Ranger.
Melissa Bennett also took a first place certificate for editorial writing in The Ranger.
Lacy Cordell placed second in newswriting and third in headline writing for the newspaper.
Third-place awards also went to Sarah Amason for feature photo, Melanie Watson for sports feature writing and Daniel Ramos for advertising design. Ben Miller received honorable mention for column writing.
Rachel Nelson took second place in magazine cover design for the cover of the spring 2006 AC Current.
Nelson also received honorable mention for non-photographic magazine illustration, and AC Current received honorable mention for overall excellence.
