New myAC Web portal is a hassle for some students

As if school and work weren't enough stress, now students have to go find their assignments on a new Web site, MyAC.
For those of you who don't know, myAC is a Web site for Amarillo College students and faculty. It is intended to organize your assignments so you are able to turn in homework without physically handing it to your teacher.
A lot of AC instructors are posting their assignments for students on myAC.
Being a new system, not everything is worked out on it just yet. I thought I spend hours on MySpace. Try and figure out how to get your assignments - and posting them isn't a walk in the park either.
My first experience with myAC was very unpleasant. Not only could I not find my assignments, but when I finally did, it wouldn't show because the pop-ups on my computer were blocked.
I had to unblock them to get my assignments. Once they were unblocked, not only did my assignment finally pop up, but so did everything else I didn't want on my computer.
I certainly don't want to spend all my time being frustrated trying to figure out how to get my homework.
All my teachers post assignments, outlines, reviews and even tests on the Web site. If you can't get to it, then I guess you're out of luck.
I'm sure students who don't have a computer and access to the Internet aren't too happy about the situation, either. That just means it will be even more time-consuming for them to go the library and try to learn how to operate the Web site, wasting more of their time when they could be doing something else. Like we don't have lives out of school!
Not everyone can get on the Web site when it's available. MyAC closes between 2 a.m.and 6 a.m. Some students work crazy hours, balancing their time between class and sleep. The Web site should be available at all hours every day.
I guess they got tired of the "my dog ate my homework" excuse, and now we all are paying for it.
This Web site is supposed to make things easier for students and faculty. But if you ask me, I think it's too much of a hassle. Once everything is worked out on the Web site and everyone learns how to do it, it will change again. What ever happened to old-fashioned pen and paper? I miss the day when you could actually hand in your homework to your instructor.
