I have loved and loathed this place. I have spent what feels like thousands and thousands of hours here (though I'm sure it's not that many) doing ... well, sometimes I don't really know.
Whatever it was, I know it wasn't a waste. I soon will complete my third (and final!) year at Amarillo College. Yes, that's right, I am one of those four-year students who graduated early (ha ha).
I joke about that, but I have thoroughly enjoyed being here.
As a freshman, I never would have imagined the opportunities I would encounter and the transformation I would make.
Through my roles in the mass communication program and as president of Phi Theta Kappa, I believe I have made a place for myself.
I have grown emotionally and professionally and have developed priceless relationships.
The others in the newsroom have made coming to work fun, as have my Phi Theta Kappa officers and adviser (particularly my executive crew).
A special thanks to Rhonda, Jan, April and my "basement buddies" (Bethany and Christina).
You guys have put up with me when I'm bouncing off walls, when I'm sleep-deprived and grumpy and when I'm bawling because of nervous breakdowns. You've given me a place to work and play in an environment that could not have been better.
Thanks! You guys are definitely the reason I'm sane.
And to you guys who I go to when I can actually get away from AC: thanks for giving me a place to relax/vent, even when I haven't seen you for 10 years and three days because I've been at the school for all that time (OK ... a little exaggeration). I really appreciate you guys.
And to AC as a community: thanks for pushing me and frustrating me and making me grow. But most of all, for recognizing me and what's in me. It would have been easy to miss.
