Students gathered in the Washington Street Campus cafeteria Monday night to hear E-Baby, a slam poet.
E-Baby, from Washington, D.C., has been doing slam poetry for five years.
Slam poetry is a type of poetry with a beat to it.
Poets enter a contest that breaks them down to the last five or so until someone is the last poet standing.…

More than a half million dollars in scholarships will be awarded this year by the Amarillo College Foundation, according to Tracy Dougherty, its interim executive director.
Dougherty has been working part-time with the foundation since October.…
The Blue Blazers are sponsoring a Spring Blood Drive from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, March 28, and Tuesday, March 29.
The drive will be in the student lounge in the basement of the College Union Building.

Amarillo College Fencing Team competed last weekend in the Amarillo Open Fencing Tournament. In attendance were fencers from Arizona, Colorado, Kansas, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas.
The tournament was on the Amarillo College East Campus.
