It's nice to finally see "Big Willie" act.
If I could possibly describe Will Smith's acting career, I would have to choose saying, "roller coaster."
One second he is possibly one of the biggest actors, then he stars in movies such as Wild, Wild, West; I-Robot and Shark Tale, to name a few, all of which were horrible.
He saved his reputation with Men in Black, Bad Boys I and II and Ali. He then hurt himself when he tried to re-live his glory days with DJ Jazzy Jeff by releasing another "whatever you call it" album or sang the theme songs for his movies.
This time, Smith finally has put a positive mark back on his profile.
Smith stars in a terrific movie and has learned from his mistakes. He stays away from singing the theme song.
Last weekend, King of Queens star Kevin James left the small screen to debut as a wonderful co-star with Smith in the romantic comedy, Hitch.
The star-studded cast is enhanced with the lovely Eva Mendez (2 Fast, 2 Furious) and Michael Rappaport (Some Girls).
In Hitch, Alex Hitchen's (Smith's) career is at its peak. He is known as "the Date Doctor," for he seems to have all the answers with his three-step program when desperate men come to him for help with the opposite sex. Albert (James) is the kind of guy who has clumsy written all over himself. He comes to Hitch for help with the lovely social elitist Allegra Cole (Amber Valletta). As the story grows, Hitch meets Sarah (Mendez), and the sparks quickly begin to fly. Sarah is a gossip columnist who knows everything about everyone. As the romance between Allegra and Albert gets hotter, Sarah does all she can to get the scoop on how an average man could get a woman like Cole.
The closer Alex and Sarah get, the closer Sarah gets to her big scoop.
The comedy is non-stop. Some scenes are unbelievable and predictable, but hey, what can we expect? It's Hollywood.
The movie was ranked No. 1 at the box office and on opening weekend, the film already had grossed more than $43 million.
I highly recommend that anyone shell out 14 bucks and share a couple of hours and laughs with their special someone.
