To most people, country music equals the twangs of banjos, guitars and the foot-stomping good time of people dressed in pearl snaps.

What most people don’t realize is that behind the twangs and two-steppers are possibly the most honest lyrics in music today – simple and to the point.

That is exactly what Miranda Lambert’s new album, Revolution, is all about.

Released last September, it is her third album and possibly her best.

The first song on the album, “White Liar,” is No. 1 on the country music charts, and the album itself has snagged six Academy of Country Music nominations.

Another great thing is that the album has 15 songs. The number of songs makes it worth the standard price of $15, unlike albums of other artists who feature 10 to 12 songs per album.

The album was written in story form so that every song leads to the next.

Listening to it from beginning to end is the way to go and the way it was intended.

Let Lambert take you from calling a man out on his lies to appreciating the ones you love.

Experience every emotion and every story from every situation such as getting out of a bad relationship to trying your best to stay out of trouble.

Lambert stays true to her Texas country roots with the presence of a steel guitar in some songs, then turning around with a more contemporary sound in others.

Whether you are mad as hell at the one who broke your heart, enamored with your loved one or just perfectly fine with how you are, this album is worth a listen.

Lambert will kick off her country-music-artist-packed “Roadside Bars and Pink Guitars” tour on March 18.

She is scheduled to play at the Amarillo Civic Center on April 22.
