Tsunamis don’t usually get a good rep, but Tsunami Japanese Steak House, which will have been in business two years next month, is an exception.
Tsunami’s dishes are comparable to those of other local Japanese steakhouses without the high price or overly commercialized atmosphere.
One of Tsunami’s most popular items, chicken served with vegetables and your choice of steamed or fried rice, costs $6.95 on the dinner menu. A similar dish costs $13.95 on Kabuki’s dinner menu.
Angela Yao, Tsunami co-owner and manager, said she and her husband Jack Tottori emphasize fresh ingredients and quality at their restaurant.
Every dish on the menu is made from scratch.
Tsunami is located at 1108 Bell St.
It is open for lunch from 11 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. and for dinner from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday and for lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. and for dinner from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday.
For great-tasting Japanese food that won’t break the bank, Tsunami Japanese Steak House is the place to go.
