Former House M.D. star robbed at gunpoint


Kal Penn, known for his work as Dr. Lawrence Kutner on House M.D. and Kumar in the Harold & Kumar series, was robbed at gunpoint in Washington, D.C., on Tuesday.

Penn was living in D.C. working as associate director of public engagement under President Barack Obama’s administration. He just recently announced that he would be returning to Hollywood to resume his acting career and role as Kumar.

Reports state that his wallet and various personal items were taken during the robbery.

Action comedy tops box office


Kick-Ass, released Friday, topped the box office last weekend with a total of $19.8 million.

Following close behind was How to Train Your Dragon with $19.6 million, Date Night with $16.7 million, Death At a Funeral with $16.2 million and Clash of the Titans with $15.3 million, according to www.boxofficemojo.com.

Kick-Ass, produced by Marv Films and Plan B Entertainment, is the story of a comic book fan and high school nerd who spontaneously decides he is going to be a superhero.

Michael Douglas’ son sentenced


Cameron Douglas, actor Michael Douglas’ 31-year-old son, has been sentenced to five years in jail. He was arrested last year in a Manhattan hotel for possession and dealing charges, to which he pleaded guilty in January.
