The Student Government Association hosted the annual Badgerama on the Washington Street Campus April 29.

The event, which lasted from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., boasted hundreds of students in attendance along with plenty of food and entertainment.

The event allowed Amarillo College organizations to set up tables as a means of providing information to curious students.

“Every organization can set up at no cost,” Heather Chavez said. “Our job is to pass out info to anyone who stops to ask about our club.”

Chavez is part of the honor society, Phi Theta Kappa. The PTK table had a small game for students to play that was similar to horseshoes.

“It doesn’t cost anything for them to play,” Chavez said.

Other organizations surrounding them were the teachers’ club, the biology club and SGA.

Students were given free fare such as hamburgers, chips, bottled water and cotton candy. There also were basketball hoops set up for dueling battles, a volleyball net, a dunking booth and an inflatable boxing ring.

The performances included a live band, Florez, and variety performers, Rootberry. Although the weather included bustling winds, students still were wandering around when tables were being taken down at 1:45 p.m.

SGA also sold drinking cups and yellow T-shirts showcasing the event.
