Annual honors convocation recognizes outstanding students

The annual Honors Convocation, which took place Sunday afternoon in the Heritage Room of the Amarillo Civic Center, honored many of Amarillo College's top-performing students.

The Academic Excellence Award is made up students representing the top 1 percent of the overall enrollment by maintaining a 4.0 grade point average while taking 18 or more hours. Members of the Blue Blazers are nominated by AC faculty and staff based on grade point average and sophomore standing. The Honors Program is a course of study geared for motivated, intellectually curious students who appreciate a unique approach to learning. The students must maintain at least a 3.25 grade point average.
